The Doog House

"Dont try to be a great man, just be a man and let history decide the rest."

Name:
Location: Okinawa (Normally Thrilling Thiells), NY, Japan

I am a cool laid back cat that like to be all hip on the fun spots in big cities (I know hot spots in N'orleans and learned of alot in NY). I love to travel and meet new people and just chat for hours as if we are old reunited friends. I am also heavily into movies and AFI's 100. I might want to become a film historian or something like that. I LOVE baseball!! I just cant get enough of it, and there is plenty here in Japan.

I have discovered something that is old hat to some of you, but totally kicks ass now that I have it...IO Digital Cable!! Yes, I expect to see "welcome to the 21st Century" in my comments, but we also are paying for the On Demand HBO, MAX, and Showtime, and it is awesome!!! I have been trying to catch Road to Perdition for the last month now. But everytime I turned on a channel it was always in the middle. But last night I discovered this wonderous "on Demand" feature and was able to watch it...totally kicks aish!!

I also caught Lost in Translation, last night after Road to perdition. And the hype on that movie is justified. Bill Murray deserves the Oscar (As of this typing I have seen 4 of the five movies which stars actors nominated for best actor), as this was one of his better performances. I recommend that ya run on out and get this movie on DVD, as I enjoyed it immensly. Just one thing had me thinking about the movie. His co-star is Scarlett Johannson, a cute as a button actress. But she turns 20 on November of this year. And you figure that most movies are filmed a year or so before they premiere. I point all this out cause it would mean that for a lot of the movie she was actually 17 during filming. And it makes ya wonder if everytime Giovanni Rabissi kisses her in this movie, could that be considered pedophilia?? Something I was wondering about...great movie though. Go see it!!!

All right cool kids, this is Doogie signing out

Edit: does anyone want to try and go to the Met someday in the next couple of weeks?? If so drop me a line as I am looking to go down one day...
