The Doog House

"Dont try to be a great man, just be a man and let history decide the rest."

Name:
Location: Okinawa (Normally Thrilling Thiells), NY, Japan

I am a cool laid back cat that like to be all hip on the fun spots in big cities (I know hot spots in N'orleans and learned of alot in NY). I love to travel and meet new people and just chat for hours as if we are old reunited friends. I am also heavily into movies and AFI's 100. I might want to become a film historian or something like that. I LOVE baseball!! I just cant get enough of it, and there is plenty here in Japan.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

Yes, it has finally happened. I am now officially a member of the United States Air Force!!! I got the medical clearance today, and barring a swearing in ceremony, you are now looking at Airman 1st Class Dennis Sheridan!! I am very excited and stoked when my Sgt. called and told me that the doc cleared me medically. I just now have to finalize my job. Pick a leave date, and ship out!! I cant Relate to you all just how happy I am, and the best part is that I may get a chance to take the OSFAV (Officers Test) sooner than later. This is all kick ass information, and something that has just totally gotten me all fired up. That is all I have for now cause the rest would just be excited ramblings...I will keep y'all informed of when my exact ship out date is. But just know that I am in!!

I went out today and splurged on myself a lil something I have wanted to buy, yet was apprehensive to (why I dont know). It is a DVD compilation of one of the best shows out there...Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Goddamn, watching some of the episodes on DVD have me dying fucking laughing and remembering how funny that show was. It is a shame TV doesnt put on kick ass shows like this anymore

Here are some really cool kick ass pictures that I thought would be nice to share with you all. And my idiotic Bob Saget like comments attached to them.

Absolutly Wondrous, and something I hope to witness first hand myself someday:

Proof that there are always others to watch out for us:

A bear that wandered onto the grassy knoll:

Peek a boo:

And finally, a reason never to give up and to keep trying:

Well in good news I passed majority of things on my physical. I had one small correctible problem. I had dirty ears and have to see an ear nose and throat specialists who just has to remove wax buildup. Once I do that I see that doc, get approval, pick out a job, and then off I go. Very exciting times for me indeed, I must admit that! I am actually pshyced to do this...

On other fronts, I am glad that there are always friends to come home too, even when you think you cant go home. Cause that is where home is...with your friends. And we have just all been living it up lately (Maybe a lil too much on Saturday night :p), as well as resolving issues with friends you lost contact with. When ya resolve things it is like starting a new friendship, only you know what can makes these people smile! I also have met up with quite a few of my old college friends this past weekend. That was awesome, cause it is great to hear peoples adventures and what they have been up to. It is almost as if you are living them yourself. At least that is the way that I feel...

Well I have taken two silly quizzes and here are my results:

Off for my physical...well tonight I have to travel up to Albany to take my physical to get into the Air Force. And lucky for me, I have lost about 20 pounds since late Nov/early December due in part to stress, diet and a new workout routine that starts when I awake. The reason I mention this is that I am now 8 pounds below the required weight (when compared to my height) to enter. Now all I have to do is pass this physical and then I pick my ship out date. I must admit I am a little nervous about this, but I am keeping a positive attitude that will get me through this. Well that is all that I have for now, I begin my trek up there shortly...

This one is for Corinne: Being persistent is someone seeking the truth...avoidance is someone avoiding what is abundantly clear.

In a discussion about Germany and what it is like to visit it, a line was uttered that I feel I should share: And now there is 33 percent less people being pushed into ovens. Wrong, very wrong.

Ever feel like you have an empty spot in your life?? Like there is some sort of goal/quest that you are supposed to complete to make yourself whole?? I know that is how I have been feeling lately, and I wish there were some sort of sign for me to help guide me on the right path...

I love this quote that comes from my Zen Buddhism book: "It is hard to find anyone who will say that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong, who is balanced, true and upright." And I also like this quote "In general, when criticizing and talking about others, you should seek to find where the fauly are faultless-how can you find the faultless faulty? If you do not look into peoples hearts, and just doubt their actions, what help is that?"
